Teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way is a research-based parent education program developed by Lynn Lott and Jane Nelsen, that provides a step-by-step approach to starting and leading experientially-based parenting groups. It provides experiential activities that reach the heart to inspire deeper understanding and change. Over six sessions of 2.5 hours each, participants will: 1. Learn research-based effective parenting tools and techniques that are mutually respectful, create connection, empower children to feel capable, and encourage children’s innate desire to contribute. 2. Deepen your understanding of Adlerian psychology and Adler's approach to parenting. 3. Become certified to facilitate a parenting class from the position of a non-expert using the world-renowned Positive Discipline program. 4. Gain practice with experiential exercises that help parents go beyond intellectual understanding and be able to respond in ways that empower children with the skills of cooperation. 5.
